Installation of PEX Systems For Both Gas And Water

As the Gastite/Watertite fittings and are compatible, installers can now use them for gas or plumbing jobs. The fittings are manufactured with two O-rings on each bar specifically designed to seal against both escape gas and water.

Both systems can be installed either with battery or manual press tools. The technique below walks you through 5 quick and easy steps to complete your jobs today:

  1. Cut pipe: ensure the pipe end is square and free from burrs.

  2. Ream: use a reamer to ensure a round and smooth pouring angle on the pipe end.

  3. Insert the fitting must be inserted fully into the pipe and can be seen through all the inspection holes on the press ring.

  4. Locate: position the tool so the press ring is completely covered by the jaws.

  5. Select your preferred tool:

    • With a battery tool: hold down the start button until the operation stops automatically, indicating installation completed.

    • With a manual tool: close the handlebars fully to complete the installation.

Note: partial closing of the jaws in either case will result in an incomplete joint. Defective joints must be replaced with a new fitting.
